Born out of necessity and creativity, I started figure and function woodworks in 2008 during some down time from the job that usually pays the bills. At first, was drawn to smaller live edge projects. Trivets, coasters, then smaller wood only cutting boards. The pairing of live edge wood and epoxy was starting to catch on with large scale custom dining room table builds and I was enthralled with the creativity that could be achieved marring these two materials. Later, an idea struck me. Most people already have a dining room table, maybe an accent piece for your kitchen or table using smaller waste material (to most woodworkers) could serve as an artistic focal point for the home. Since then we have completed over 1000 boards and smaller scale projects.
Following 2020, I launched my signature series. These boards represent over 12 years of experience and hundreds of pours worth of expertise. They represent the rarest, highly figured, most intriguing wood I can find, with a commitment to sustainability and reforestation built into every piece. Signed, dated, and offered in limited editions of 100 a year, These collectable works represent my best work and i’m proud to offer them to my collectors.
